Thank you for stopping by my personal blog. My name is Kureno Souma, and right now I’m between jobs. I used to be the Souma family secretary, mainly for Akito’s sake! but to organize and schedule things as well. Recently, though, I’m thinking of moving away from the Estate, so my position is very temporary.

Oh, maybe that’s how you found me! through one of my cousins? If so, then welcome. My cousins are good people; I truly believe that. We have our quarrels and arguments, but I think everyone’s growing up more and more these days. Actually, I’m saying a lot of this on a whim. I haven’t been able to speak to most of my cousins lately, so I’m not sure how they’re all doing.

Maybe that sounds weird? It’s because I’m no longer cursed with a spirit of one of the Jyuunishi. I used to be the “bird”, but around fifteen or so, my curse just broke. I’m still not sure how it happened. Well, I promised Akito I wouldn’t interact with the other Jyuunishi very much, so, in keeping that promise, I haven’t been able to watch them grow up. Actually, I don’t mind too much. Every now and then it bothers me, but I’m not! the most talkative person. I certainly don’t blame Akito for anything, since it was my decision.

Hm, I suppose I really haven’t told you much about my personality, or myself! but I think that’s something best left unspoken, something for you to judge on your own. I’m not very hard to get along with (at least, I don’t think I am), so if you ever have the urge to speak with me, feel free. Like I said, I’m still the family secretary until I move out. So, I’ll be in my office quite a bit.

What People Think of Me

Kureno is apparently the very last member of the Chinese Zodiac to be revealed in the manga. All indications seem to imply that he really is the bird/rooster of the zodiac. Little is known about Kureno other than the fact that Akito likes to keep him away from the other zodiac members, who see him only on New Years, and that he’s always there to fulfill Akito’s needs 24/7! Despite being around the same age as the three musketeers (Ayame, Shigure & Hatori) Kureno seems to the lack the freedom that they and the younger zodiac members enjoy. Kureno hardly ever gets to go outside the main house and on one of the occasions when Akito did let him leave, he met Arisa/Uo at the convenience store where she works. As far as I know there is no information regarding Kureno’s past or immediate family.
