Tohru’s about to move out of Shigure’s house. She also gives her new address. Shigure thanks her for looking after things in their hoe and wishes her luck in her new home.

When Yuki asks why Shigure didn’t stop her until Shigure points out that Tohru only offered to stay until she could go back. “Having a stranger here feels weird anyway.

Tohru is at her new home and remembers ever since being a kid she never fit in anywhere. The boys always picked on her. One day they where playing a game called fruits basket when they made her be onigiri (rice ball). Back then she thought it was a fruit.

An onigiri was never meant to be in a fruits basket is her parting thought.

After Tohru’s departure Kyo and Yuki are both in thought of Tohru. They are both depressed.

Tohru meanwhile is in her relative’s home. She is sad that she forgot to say goodbye to them but consoles herself with the fact that she will be able to see both Kyo and Yuki in school. The two books in her hands are, the joys of gardening all year round and martial arts ignite the passion. Her female cousin butts in her thoughts asking her “are you finished?” Her grandfather asks for Kyouko(Tohru) to be downstairs.

Her Aunty and other cousin appear very strict with her Aunt having hired a private investigator to dig up information about her. Luckily her grandfather saves her but in the process annoys her other relatives.

Grandfather asks ” is there somewhere else you rather be? Somewhere you could spread your wings to fly?” He mentions that Katsuya (her father) said this of her mother.

Tohru starts to cry saying that she is blessed yet selfish. Then Yuki pops in telling her to come back if she wants to. Kyo takes action and drags her out by the forehead.

Yuki cheerfully asks where Tohru’s stuff is? Her male cousin had mistaken him for a girl. Yuki pushes his forehead back saying that they are peasants not worthy for Tohru.

Kyo is annoyed with Tohru for not telling them that she wanted to stay and made him work with Yuki just to find her. But when he says that he and Yuki know that she wanted to stay, she gets flustered and asks, “How did you know?”

“We heard all of it.” He says. Kyo proceeds to tell her that it’s okay to be selfish and sad sometimes. It only gets annoying when a person does in all the time.

Tohru starts to dry while Kyo drags her along to where Yuki’s waiting with her things. They all hold hands (with Tohru in the middle).

Tohru thinks that here a place where she can now fit in.

“Congratulations on the capture of princess!” says Shigure cheerfully. Both Yuki and Kyo are annoyed and the day ends with Kyo and Yuki fighting.
