Tohru is busy cooking dinner in the Shigure’s kitchen. Yuki enters and is surprised at the transformation of the once extremely dirty kitchen. As Tohru is cooking rice, he is extremely surprised to find out that they have a rice cooker.
While having dinner (with just the two of them) Tohru thinks that while living rent free all she has to do is do all the house hold chores and cook. While Yuki is telling her how good her food is, they both wonder where Shigure and Kyo are. They also talk about Yuki’s secret base.
In the middle of their dining the door is flung open. Kyo and Shigure are fighting with Shigure saying, “It’s for your own good.” When Tohru says “dinner’s ready!” Kyo yells “I don’t want any!’ and goes up to his room.
Shigure reprimands Kyo even through they’re rooms apart. Yuki tells Shigure that he isn’t really convincing. Tohru however tells Shigure how good he looks in a suit. While Shigure is happy about looking good in a suit, Yuki brings him back down to earth by saying he looks like an escort.
While Shigure’s eating his dinner, he tells the other two that today he tricked Kyo into taking the entrance exam for transfer students. While Tohru is confused, Shigure tells them that Kyo will be going to the same high school. Yuki is very angry, his mood turning frosty. Shigure informs them instead of going to school for the past for months Kyo has been training in the mountains to achieve his goal of defeating Yuki in a fight.
While Yuki mutters “baka”(Idiot), Tohru is deep in thought and wonders if Kyo has a grudge against Yuki because of the legend where the cat was tricked. Tohru feels sorry for Kyo and is convinced he despises her.
The next day Kyo is in the center of attention mainly because he is Yuki’s cousin and he is cute. When Yuki’s classmates ask him to introduce Kyo, he tells them that they are not very close. Uo-chan tells them that she thinks that his hair colour is like Kyouko (Tohru’s mother). Tohru agrees with her. Meanwhile Hana wonders why both Kyo and Yuki have the same waves as each other but that are different to normal people. Tohru thinks that it’ll be very hard to hide the truth from Hana.
After attracted much unwanted attention, Kyo begins to leave the room. Then a girl grabs his arm. Extremely angry he twists her arm back. ” Don’t touch me.” Says Kyo with a maniac look in his eyes. With the parting words of “leave me alone!” Kyo jumps out of the window leaving girls crushing on him and wondering how the hell did he jump out of a second story building without being injured.
After running away Yuki looms over Kyo asking him to think before he acts. Kyo meanwhile tells Yuki that he’s insane for choosing a co-ed high school. Yuki says, ” I wanted to break away from the family but you jumped in without knowing what you were getting yourself into.” Angered Kyo retorts,” I’m gonna beat you someday and become a member of the junnishi. (Zodiac)” Just when Kyo is about to fight with Yuki, Tohru hugs Kyo to stop the fight.
Tohru keeps on apologising and begs him to stop fighting. In the middle of her begging, Kyo is really annoyed and tells her to shut up, quit interfering and that Tohru is an eyesore.After Kyo says this, Tohru can only think, he really hates me over and over again. Her friends find her and then she purposely bumps her head on the medicine cabinet to give her a reason to cry.
Meanwhile back at home Kyo talks to Shigure about Tohru, communication and the special person that Kyo will find that loves him for whom he is. In the middle of their conversation, Yuki comes in and says, ” I’m home.” Shigure asks where Tohru is and Yuki says ” she’s at work and I’m thinking of picking her up when she finishes.” “You should,” says Shigure, ” I heard there’s a pervert lurking around.”
Tohru’s walking to the house by herself while she thinks about Kyo and how she might have offended him. Suddenly she hears a noise lurking about in the bushes and she thinks it’s the pervert. She hits him with her bag while yelling, ” stay away from me.” She then finds out her pervert is Kyo. Kyo thinks that she now hates him and Tohru thinks that she can’t say that she thought he was a pervert but what shall she do?
Tohru then tries to make very polite conversation and then uses his name. This causes Kyo to turn around and yell at her. He then apologises to her in his own way.
Tohru then tells him that, she always loved the cat from the zodiac. He remembers a bit of the conversation he had with Shigure. He brushes it off saying “idiot, there’s nothing good about being the cat.” It ends with Tohru thinking that Kyo seems rough on the outside but on the inside he’s actually kind and sensitive.
The next morning beings with Shigure singing ” Kyo is a pervert!” Kyo yells that he isn’t. Tohru asks Kyo if her cooking’s nice? Unable to give an answer he rounds off on Yuki who Kyo thinks is staring at him. After exchanging a battle of the words Kyo yells, ” It’s disgusting!”
Tohru then thinks that since she and Kyo are now friends everything should be easy now.
