One of the facts omitted in the anime is that Hatori Sohma is extremely embarrassed about having the dragon as his other form. When Tohru asked him what his other form was, Shigure and Momiji couldn’t contain their laughter. Hatori had to threaten to publish every embarrassing thing Shigure ever done since Shigure was four, just so Shigure wouldn’t tell Tohru what his other form was.

Why such an embarrassment over the dragon form? I have a theory on this.

The Japanese word for dragon is tatsu. What’s so shameful about that? It so happens that the word tatsu also means "to rise up" or "to be erected/[to have an] erection." Add that to the fact that Takaya sensei writes above Hatori’s seahorse form the words "only 8 cm long". No wonder Hatori is embarrassed! =)
