- When will the second season of Fruits Basket come out?
- Although there are many speculations and rumors regarding a second season of the Fruits Basket series, no real plans have been made regarding its continuation.
- Why do you spell Souma with a ‘u’ and not as Sohma? Or Kyou instead of Kyo?
- Japanese name tend to vary in spelling whey they’re romanized (translated to English). Basically, we’re sticking as close to the japanese translations of the names as possible. The japanese alphabet are composed of syllables that almost always end with a consonant (except for the character ‘n’). Although there is a ‘ma’ in the japanese alphabet, there is no character for ’soh’ in it. So the spelling Sohma, isn’t correct to japanese standards; it’s only how the publisher decided on how to translate the names to English. Their surname can either be written as Soma, Souma, or even (though not commonly) Sooma.
- Is Akito really a girl? If so why did she appear like a guy in the anime?
- Yes, Akito is a girl as revealed by Fruits Basket creator, Natsuki Takaya. The reason she appeared so much like a guy in the anime is because while the anime was made, her real gender wasn’t revealed yet. For more background info on this, read Sohma Akito - Goddess of Tragedy.
- How many manga books are there?
- The Fruits Basket manga series is currently complete at 23 volumes.
